Chris Long, 108cm Gladstone, Queensland, 23/06/2015

We would like to welcome Christopher Long to One Metre Barra Club with his 108cm from Gladstone. Chris has been living in Gladstone now for a couple of years and he has been working out the Barramundi fishing when he can at any opportunity. He caught this fish while trolling on a good school of fish. Chris said that he landed a few fish in the 80cm class during an hour session and went on to tell us it was “probably the best Barra bite period I’ve come across so far!” This is a nice fish to enter OMBC with and we are also giving Chris a big shout out for protecting his spot.  Here is a tip to all out there living in populated locations if you can take a photo without landmarks or markers it will help protect your spot from others. Many of the Big Barra you will see on our site have had background or adjustments made in photoshop to protect specific spots. It is not so important in the Aussie wilderness locations but we are very aware of this when posting our pictures. Thanks again Chris and welcome to OMBC!
